Deformation and buckling of microcapsules in a viscoelastic matrix.

چکیده
In this paper, we numerically study the dynamics of (1) a Newtonian liquid-filled capsule in a viscoelastic matrix and that of (2) a viscoelastic capsule in a Newtonian matrix in a linear shear flow using a front-tracking method. The numerical results for case (1) indicate that the polymeric fluid reduces the capsule deformation and aligns the deformed capsule with the flow direction. It also narrows the range of tension experienced by the deformed capsule for case (1), while the tank-treading period significantly increases. Interestingly, the polymeric fluid has an opposite effect on the tank-treading period and the orientation angle of case (2), but its effect on the deformation is similar to case (1).

Differential Quadrature Method for Dynamic Buckling of Graphene Sheet Coupled by a Viscoelastic Medium Using Neperian Frequency Based on Nonlocal Elasticity Theory
In the present study, the dynamic buckling of the graphene sheet coupled by a viscoelastic matrix was studied. In light of the simplicity of Eringen's non-local continuum theory to considering the nanoscale influences, this theory was employed. Equations of motion and boundary conditions were obtained using Mindlin plate theory by taking nonlinear strains of von Kármán and Hamilton's principle ...

In this article, bending, buckling, and free vibration of viscoelastic sandwich plate with carbon nanotubes reinforced composite facesheets and an isotropic homogeneous core on viscoelastic foundation are presented using a new first order shear deformation theory. According to this theory, the number of unknown’s parameters and governing equations are reduced and also the using of shear correct...
متن کاملFree vibration and buckling analysis of third-order shear deformation plate theory using exact wave propagation approach
In this paper, wave propagation approach is used to analysis the free vibration and buckling analysis of the thick rectangular plates based on higher order shear deformation plate theory. From wave viewpoint, vibrations can be considered as traveling waves along structures. Waves propagate in a waveguide and reflect at the boundaries. It is assumed that the plate has two opposite edge simply su...

In this paper, based on Kelvin and Linear Standard Solid models, dynamic response and the buckling load of a viscoelastic beam under lateral and axial loads have been determined. The governing equations have been extracted using Euler and Timoshenko theories and their analytical solutions have been obtained by using the eigenfunctions expansion method. Buckling load have been calculated by us...
متن کاملBuckling profile of a thin rod embedded in a fractured biopolymer matrix
A thin elastic rod embedded in an elastic medium buckles into an exponentially decaying short wavelength profile under compressive loading beyond a critical value. In this study, we report a combined experimental and theoretical investigation of the buckling profile of a thin elastic rod embedded in an elastic gelatin biopolymer network when fracture of the network happens. Prior models have pr...
